Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF)

Money laundering is the process by which the proceeds of crime are disguised to appear legitimate. Criminals sometimes target businesses to launder funds without their knowledge. In response, jurisdictions including the European Union have adopted directives to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

While LEMO TV is not a regulated financial institution and does not fall within the scope of these obligations, our management has chosen to implement systems and procedures that reflect these standards — because we do not want our service used to facilitate financial crime.

Our approach

  • A risk-based approach to assessing and managing money-laundering and terrorist-financing risk.
  • Risk-based customer due diligence (CDD) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedures where appropriate, including enhanced checks for higher-risk cases.
  • Ongoing monitoring of customer activity.
  • Procedures for reporting suspicious activity to the relevant authorities where required.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and raising staff awareness.

Sanctions

We do not transact with individuals, companies or countries on applicable sanctions lists, and we screen against United Nations, European Union, UK Treasury and US OFAC sanctions lists in the jurisdictions where we operate.
